First and foremost I cannot understand the criteria by which MEPA granted this mega nature-killing project! Secondly, the contradictions revolving around MEPA are sickening. On one hand you have a newly wed couple and MEPA makes it impossible for them to build their home within the village core just because there is an old building with a couple of arches. I understand that the facade has to remain intact but the rest? BUT this is called heritage! On the other hand, we have this undisputable unique Ramla Bay that if the hard-headed bigheads persist with their decisions, it will change forever. It will be destroyed forever! Ladies and gentelmen the reason behind such a large project is to make who is already drowning in money more wealthy. BUT according to our beloved MEPA the site is of no archaelogical importance. And what about the heritage MEPA boasts to preserve? Or isn't it a heritage, a site situated a few metres away from Ramla Bay? To those who really care for their island GOZO, let's not politicise this issue in our minds. It's not blue, red or green! It's Ramla's case in point! Do not let the rich developer gain from our stupid partisanism! Let's be TRUE GOZITAN'S for once! |

Shame! Shame! On the goverment to allow such distruction to such a beautiful place. I can't belive such a thing is happening. I was a little girl when I first came opon the calypso cave and the views of ramla and I was in such awe and wonder. Now to know that my children will not be able to enjoy this splender of my youth is outragouse. This is a part of Gozo a part of our history a part of being a Gozitan how can this be allowed Shame on all who is invloved. It just shows that all you need is money and know the right people and you can distory history. It is a diservice to all in Malta and the whole world. |

Malta is being distroyed by the same goverment. There are hundreds of people that need a building permit for years and although they have the right to have a house and have land to do so they must wait for seven years at least. And now mepa is giving the authority to this sham. And i have a question for anyone who can answer: For whom is this project? Who is going to make use of it? |
