GOZO, Malta (di-ve news)--September 28, 2007 - 1230CEST--The redevelopment of Ulysses Lodge - popularly known as Ramla l-Hamra development, over which the controversy erupted in the begining of summer, was placed behind a veil of uncertainty following a legal hitch with the application.

In a statement, the Malta Environment Planning Authority (MEPA) board decided that there was sufficient evidence to consider the application on permits pertaining to the re-development of the Ulysses Lodge.

The legal office has found inaccuracies in the ownership declarations submitted with the applications which had a material bearing on the decisions of the Authority, especially with regards to public land which seems to form part of the development.

The MEPA board will decide on this issue at a sitting in public on Thursday.

MEPA faced a storm of controversy over the Ramla development after granting permission to develop of 23 villas on the Ulysses Lodge site over looking Ramla l-Hamra.
